During the Global Campaign for Education's Action Week in 2007, students met with their members of Congress, and over 1,000 classrooms heard the stories of out-of-school children in developing countries. Angelina Jolie spoke out on behalf of orphans and vulnerable children and former child laborers brought their messages to U.S. leaders at a press conference.

Specially for GCE, Hilary created and co-ordinated an art exhibition on Education as a Human Right using over 150 individual artworks from schools and community organizations from across the country. The exhibition was on display at the Global Campaign for Education youth training at the Churchill Hotel, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Russell Senate Building on Capitol Hill and the Center for American Progress.

The participating schools, groups and individuals shared with their audiences the importance of using art as a meaningful educational tool that truly was the highlight of Action Week.
